Technical difficulties cause passport delays

The Department of Immigration advised today that due to technical difficulties being experienced with its passport printer, the public can expect to experience some delays with the processing of passports.

A Ministry of Home Affairs spokesperson said today, “The Department of Immigration will however continue to receive passport applications for processing and will make every attempt to issue the documents in accordance with its eight (8) working day turnaround time.

“In the meantime, the Department of Immigration assures the public that it is working diligently to address the technical issues so as to avoid any further inconvenience to the public. We want to take this opportunity to thank the public in advance for their continued cooperation and patience.”
