St George's names teams for first Cup Match trial

St George's will hold their first Cup Match trial on Saturday.

This will be the first of potentially four trial matches, with St. George’s wanting to get a good look at their players in action as they prepare to try to take the cup back after Somerset won in convincing fashion last year.

The impressive 10-wicket victory was Somerset’s first in a decade, and they will be looking to regain bragging rights in the 111th edition of the biggest fixture — to be played at St George's — on the island’s cricket calendar in August.

A total of 22 players will get a chance to impress this weekend at St George's Cricket Club.

Team A: Oronde Bascome, Chae Foggo, Tomiko Wilson, Regino Smith, Machai Simmons, Zeko Burgess, George O’Brian, Bennett Phipps, Wilbur Burt, Misheal Paynter, and Onias Bascome.  

Team B: Rodney Trott, Tredwell Gibbons, Sinclair Smith Jr., Jason Anderson, Allan Douglas, Ryan Steede, Damali Bell, Lateef Trott, David Bedard, Makai Young, and Dennis Musson.

The match will start at 10am, with players asked to arrive for 9am.
