Meditation

John 10: 27 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

What is your burning bush?

Do you hear or see something that really stands out to you and remains in your heart?

Are you wrestling with an idea or an experience that just doesn’t make sense?

God speaks in many ways. The Bible tells us that an angel of the Lord appeared to Moses in a flame of fire in a bush and the bush was not destroyed (Exodus 3:2). God will use anything that will get our attention.

Continuing in Chapter 3, it further tells us: “And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.

“And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, ‘Moses, Moses’. And he said, ‘Here am I’.” (Exodus 3: 3-4)

Many times there is a great sight for us to see in our lives, but we haven’t turned aside to see it.

It was when Moses made a choice to see what was happening before him, that’s when he heard God call him.

Are you stopping to see the flame before you? Are you stopping to see the signal or the wonder that God is showing you?

God had an assignment for Moses to do in this amazing experience before him.

God has a special assignment for each and every one of you to do.

God tells Moses, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey, unto the place of the Cana-an-ites, and the Hit’-tites and the Am’orites, and the Per- iz’- zites, and the Hi’ – vites, and the Jeb’ – u – sites.” (Exodus 3: 7, 8).

Remember, God sees where you are and what is happening in your life.

Nothing escapes God, and the suffering many believers face will not last forever, but God will allow us to learn the lessons and to develop the patience, endurance and perseverance we will need throughout our lives.

It’s important that we learn to see God even in our suffering. He is definitely moving in it.

God sent Moses to Pharaoh to deliver the children of Israel out of the bondage they were in while in Egypt.

Moses felt unworthy saying, “Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?

“And he said, Certainly I will be with thee, and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.”  (Exodus 3: 11, 12).

It is so great to know that what God is calling us to do even in the simple daily things of life; He is with us and will give us the strength we need.

Reflections

Is God calling you to do something that you feel afraid to do or unworthy of?

What is your burning bush experience?

Prayer

Dear Lord, help me to do the things that you are calling me to do.

I pray that your love will cast out all fear and doubt.

Thank you for the strength and power I have in you. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
