The UK’s top selling newspaper The Sun has published a full-page feature on the Lennon Bermuda CD box set launched in September.
Stories about the tribute CD, performed by local artists and guest musicians, have been circulating across numerous local and national radio stations, newspapers and magazines including The Sun, The Independent and BBC Radio 2. The Sun newspaper boasts a circulation of over 2.8 million worldwide.
Tony Brannon of Freisenbruch and Meyer which produced the CD, as well as the hugely successful tribute concert at the Botanical Gardens last year, said the exposure is great not only for the CD but for Bermuda as a whole.
He told the Bermuda Sun: “The Sun is the largest circulation paper in England and it was a great piece, I was really pleased.
“There is so much stuff going on over there — we have been on regional radio stations all over the country and we have done tons of interviews. We are taking our time, it will take a few years to get sales up — we haven’t even targeted Europe or America yet so that’s all to come.”
Mr Brannon said he is hoping the next will appear in The Times newspaper in the UK.
Freisenbruch and Meyer is planning another John Lennon concert this year on International Peace Day — September 21. The event will be sponsored by Mini.
