The Ministry of Education is pleased to advise that Mrs. Sherri Bucci has been appointed to the post of Coordinator of the Child Development Programme (CDP).
Mrs. Bucci brings a wealth of experience to this role. She has served 27 years as a teacher with the last 16 years serving as a preschool administrator in the Bermuda Public School System.
Mrs. Bucci holds Bachelor of Science in Education, Masters of Arts in Management and Human Relations and Master of Arts in Communicative Disorders degrees.
In addition to her educational qualifications and experience, Mrs. Bucci brings with her a passion for children.
Today, Sen. the Hon. Nalton Brangman, Minister of Education said, “We feel honoured to have her as a member of the Ministry of Education team. I am certain that under her leadership, the Child Development Programme will continue its role as a flagship for child development in the region.”
The Child Development Programme began in 1978 as a pilot project. Then known as the Child Development Project, it was established through the collaboration of the then Ministry of Health and Social Services and Education.
The Child Development Programme is an early intervention service offered to families free of charge. The aim of the programme is to work in partnership with families to enhance the development of children from birth to four-years of age.
This critically important service assists parents and educators to ensure that children enter school with the best possible opportunity for success.
