Ball hockey team undefeated after three games
Bermuda’s Ball Hockey team is putting on a dominating performance at the World Championships being held in Newfoundland, Canada.
After three games Bermuda is undefeated and leads in both goals for and against.
The team won its third game today as it thrashed Israel 5-1.
Bermuda opened the B Pool round robin by humbling Hong Kong 8-1 and followed that up with a 3-2 victory over Italy, a team they had never beaten before.
In today’s win, Adam Chevis opened the scoring for Bermuda at 5:04 in the first period. David Gazzard put Bermuda up 2-10 just 14 seconds later.
Ronnie Peleg pulled one back for Israel in the second period as Bermuda was held scoreless.
In the third Bermuda left no doubt about would win with goals by Chad Critchley, Christopher Merritt and Tom Miller.
Etienne Forgues handled the net duties for Bermuda superbly facing down 19 of the 20 shots sent his way by the Israelis.
Bermuda faces a key match against Cayman Islands on Wednesday as they are the only other team that is undefeated. The team then has Great Britain on Thursday and Armenia on Friday before completing the round robin stage.
