Here’s all the essential information you will need over the Cup Match holiday:
Ships:
Visiting ships will be the Norwegian Breakaway, and Celebrity Summit in Dockyard.
Banks, offices & retailers:
Banks and Government offices will be closed. Some retailers and department stores will be closed or on shorter hours. Dockyard will be open for business as usual.
Buses:
Public buses will run on Sunday and public holiday schedule.
Ferry routes:
• Ferry routes from Dockyard to Hamilton and Dockyard to St George’s will run on regular week day schedule.
• The Paget/Warwick Route will run on Sunday and Holiday schedule.
• The Rockaway Route will not operate.
• Additional service - Departs from Watford Bridge, Somerset, to St George’s at 7.30am, departs from St George’s to Watford Bridge and Dockyard at 8.30pm on Thu and Fri.
Attractions:
The following attractions are open during the Cup Match holiday:
• Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo, Flatts
• Crystal and Fantasy Caves, Bailey’s Bay
• Bermuda National Museum, Dockyard
• Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute, Hamilton – open from 12-5pm Thu and Fri.
• Visitor Information Centres in Hamilton, St George’s and Dockyard.
Harbour Nights:
Free street festival on Wednesday, July 31 in Hamilton, from 7pm to 10pm featuring live entertainment, food stalls, artists, artisan and craft vendors, and children’s area. Special feature: Emancipate Your Mind — The History of Cup Match.
The last ferry from Hamilton to Dockyard is at 10pm.
Cricket Match:
The Cup Match Classic Cricket Game takes place at Wellington Oval, St George’s. Entry is $20 adults, 5-12 year-olds $5, under 5 free. Gates open at 6am. The Bermuda Department of Tourism will have a visitors’ stall with free refreshments.
Beachfest:
BeachFest is on Thursday, August 1 at Snorkel Park, $10 entry during the day, $20 after 7pm.
Live music, games, swimming, food and drink available, 12noon to 3am.
