The new mural on the side of Jamaican Grill on Court Street is already bringing positivity to the area according to restaurant co-owner David Thomas.

The mural by local artist Manuel Palacio features Bermuda’s sporting heroes throughout the years. Pictured, from left to right, are Clyde Best, David Bascome, Shaun Goater, Nahki Wells and Kyle Lightbourne.

Thomas told the Bermuda Sun: “The whole area is buzzing even outside the area is buzzing about it. Everybody that sees it are well impressed. We’ve seen some new faces come by and take a peek and then come in even if it’s for a drink or something small

The mural was finally finished last week Wednesday and was organized by North East Hamilton EEZ officer Roxanne Christopher in connection with the Community Action Week Volunteer Programme by Habitat for Humanity.

“Between himself and Roxanne Christopher came to us and asked us if we wanted something on the wall and as soon as they said it was national sporting heroes we were all for it.

It came out way better than my wildest dreams.”
