I love zombies.
I was very young when I saw the classic Night of the Living Dead and ever since they’ve been my favourite movie monster. Being a big fan of The Walking Dead TV show, I was excited to see a free release of the game in the app store this past week.
My excitement was tempered when I found out that while the app is free, the episodes to play through the app are not. There are six episodes and for a limited time the first one — A New Day — is free. The other five episodes can be purchased as a bundle for $19.99 or individually for $4.99 each.
The cool thing about the game is it adapts the storyline as you make decisions.
You start Episode one with a police officer taking a prisoner to jail on the highway. Soon there are police and other emergency vehicles screaming down the road in the opposite direction.
The game really kicks into gear after you spot your first zombie on the highway. If you don’t pay attention, your car will be crashed and you’ll have assorted injuries to deal with as well.
I found the game to be addictive and loads of fun. With multiple storylines it is highly replayable.
Two words of warning: First the game is content restricted for graphic violence as well as language and is not recommended for those under 17. Secondly, it won’t work on first generation iPads.
They game can be played on android as well as Apple products.
