Bermuda dig deep to overcome Greenland
The hosts were indebted to an 88th-minute penalty from Drewonde Bascome after the referee had blown up for a shove in the back on Domico Coddington.
Before then, both teams lacked a cutting edge, although substitute Rai Simons should have won the game for Bermuda with 15 minutes remaining when he rounded the keeper but hit the post from a tight angle.
The win gave Bermuda a double over Greenland — with the women also edging a fiercely contested final encounter.
After the game finished 0-0 after extra time, the home crowd were treated to a superb penalty shootout display from keeper Stacy Babb, who pulled off two crucial saves to seal a 5-4 win.
