If your primary school student is having problems with their multiplication tables, 10 Monkeys has an app that can help them.
In the app, your child takes the role of monkey who tries to help other monkeys escape a series of traps. The game provides a fun way to learn their times tables.
For example, in doing 2x — a series of circles appear with possible correct answer. The user gets points on how fast they correctly answer the multiplication.
There is a timer at the beginning and when it runs out their score is tallied. If the score is high enough, the monkey from that trap is freed.
Later on, the user is allowed three wrong scores or misses.
While that may sound completely easy, the 3X has a series of bouncing circles and if a person’s hand-eye coordination isn’t good, it can lead to hitting the wrong circle.
You get bonus points for swipes rather than taps if the correct answer is being shown in more than one bubble.
It’s worth downloading and even mom and dad can give it a try to see who can get the high score. The app is free to download from the iTunes store.
