The cable ship Wave Sentinel will sail back into Bermudian waters later this week as part of her annual programme.
The ship was in Bermuda last summer in the build up to the London Olympics and was on 24/7 call in case there were any problems with the fibre-optic cables on the North Atlantic seabed.
Wave Sentinel is fully equipped with specialized sub-aqua machinery and highly trained crew to lay new and repair existing cables on the ocean floor.
She is based in Portland, UK, for six months of the year, and spends the rest of the year based out of Bermuda.
The ship, which is one of a trio of vessels run by Global Marine Systems Ltd, is expected to arrive in Dockyard on Friday.
Today the West End welcomes its usual cruise ships — the Norwegian Breakaway and the Summit.
While tomorrow the Bermuda Islander is due to arrive in Hamilton, complete with 127 containers.
Finally this weekend will see the Explorer of the Seas get in on Saturday, and Sunday will see the long-awaited return of the Grandeur of the Seas as well as the Norwegian Dawn.
