Heather Macdonald
Dec. 9 — Heather Macdonald presents a new body of 30 paintings featuring Bermuda landscapes until Dec. 9 at Jardine House on Reid Street. To book an appointment to view the pieces, call 747-0209.
The Small Paintings Show
Until Jan. 2006 — This show features works by Diana Amos, Eric Amos, William Collieson, Dan Dempster, Sheilagh Head, Jonah Jones, Christopher Marson, Molly Smith, Bruce Stuart, Otto Trott and Sharon Wilson. The show is focused on small paintings, which make perfect Christmas gifts. The show is open at The Desmond Fountain Gallery on Front Street.
Different Strokes
Until Dec. 11 — Now on at The Lighthouse Tearoom, Southampton is ‘Different Strokes’, a show of small pieces of art by Christopher Marson, Christopher Grimes, Otto Trott, Rhona Emmerson, Jackie Stevenson, Karen Dyer, Fayelle Bush, Angela Gentleman, and Emma Ingham-Dounouk. The Lighthouse Tearoom is open every day from 9am-3pm. The show closes Dec. 11 at 2pm.
Blooming & Small Wall
Until Jan. 2006 — Open at the BACD is Blooming, a show about riots of colour and burgeoning new life, as well as the Small Wall, with lots of small, quality work to fill lots of large, quality stockings following in the traditions of Windjammer and Heritage House Galleries. The feature artist for the show is Stacey Amos. The BACD is open Monday to Sunday 10-5pm. 234-2809.

Bermuda National Gallery WINTER ART CAMPS
Dec. 19-23 — The BNG will host winter art camps for students aged 8-12. The three-day camp will take place Dec. 19,20, 21 and the two-day camp from Dec. 22-23. Geared for children aged 8-12, the Winter Art Classes will offer quality art education in a fun and informative environment. The class will run for five full days and children can be signed on for both camps, which will be taught by Arts Educator, Jenny Brookes.
The camp takes place from 9am–3pm at The Bermuda National Gallery. The three-day camp costs, for members, $126, siblings: $108 each, and for non-members, $147, siblings: $129 each. For the two-day camp costs are $84, siblings: $72 per sibling for members and $98, siblings: $86 per sibling for non-members. To sign up for the entire week costs, for members, $190, siblings: $175 per sibling, and $215, siblings: $205 per sibling, for non-members. For more information call 295-9428.
Bermuda National Gallery Student Art Competition
Dec. 12 — This competition is open to all students studying in Bermuda under the age of 17. The theme is ‘What is your heritage and how has it shaped you?’ All work must be delivered to the Bermuda National Gallery by 4pm on Monday, Dec. 12, 2005. The maximum size for pieces are 12 x 18 inches and pieces need to be two-dimensional, a painting, a collage or a drawing. There are six school group categories. Lunchtime Concert and Presentation: Christmas Traditions in Bermuda
Dec. 14 — To get people in the Christmas mood and to remember what Christmas is all about, the Bermuda National Gallery will host a mini concert from the Francis Patton School Choir singing original Christmas songs, followed by a presentation on Christmas Traditions in Bermuda with Ruth Thomas. The concert and presentation take place from 12.30-1.30 pm and admission is free.
Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer
Dec. 21 — The Bermuda National Gallery presents a Christmas Classic by Bermuda’s own Arthur Rankin, the creator of stop-motion animation.
The film takes place from 12.30-1.30 pm and admission is free.
Bermuda’s Culture & Traditions with Ruth Thomas
Dec. 14, 21, 28 — Learn about Bermuda’s culture and traditions with Ruth Thomas every Wednesday in December from 11am-12noon at the Bermuda National Gallery. Organised by the Department of Community & Cultural Affairs, admission is free.

Bermuda Christmas Boat Parade
Dec. 10 — This fairytale event features boats of all sizes decorated with brilliant festive lights and decoration, creating a sea of dreams. The parade takes place at 6.30pm in Hamilton Harbour. Places to watch include: Anywhere along the the City of Hamilton and Pitts Bay Road waterfront, Atop either Cavendish Heights or Bostock Hill and Harbour Road in Paget. Robinson Crusoe Pantomime
Dec. 8-17 — The Bermuda Musical and Dramatic Society presents its annual offering of panto fun and games. Matinees are scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays at 3pm. Evening show at 7.30pm, but check www.bmds.bm for updates. Tickets are $25 and are available at www.bmds.bm or from the Ticket Office at Daylesford until Wednesday Dec. 7, weekdays only, between 5.30-7.30pm. From Thursday Dec. 8- Saturday Dec. 17. Techno Explosion
Dec 16. — Tropical Entertainment presents Techno Explosion, Dance vs Techno, in the Bermudiana Room at Elbow Beach from 9pm until. Tickets are $15, $20 at the door and are available from SoundStage, Down to Earth or by calling 737-2066.

Walking Club of Bda
Dec. 11 — The Walking Club will walk from Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, Southampton for approximately seven miles. Participants should meet at the parking lot at 7am for a 7.10 start. The walks are free and all are welcome. There are cut-off points for those who do not want to walk the full distance.
