Women defeat Cleveland U-16s to open with a victory
Bermuda's Women's team got off to a winning start in their first game in the under-16 league.
Brittany Marshall, daughter of former national team captain Charlie Marshall, was the top score with 27 as the women made 118 in their 30 overs before bowling Cleveland out for 116 to claim a narrow two-run win.
Terri Lynn Paynter was the top performer with the ball for the women claiming 2 for 27. Koshun Lightbourne top scored for Cleveland with 30.
Jermaine Usher continued his fine form for CedarBridge smashing 69 as they amassed a massive 219 for 9 to beat Somerset by 99 runs.
Usher and opening partner Donavon Simmons (61) put on 120 for the first wicket with Makai Young (23) and Donald Smith (38) chipping in valuable runs down the order to take CedarBridge to their imposing total. Naquon Smith was top bowler for Somerset with four for 16.
Young then starred with the ball taking five for nine in eight overs to knock Somerset over for 120 and earn himself the MVP award. Trey Simons made 31 with to top score for Somerset.
Lateef Trott took six wickets and then starred with the bat as St George's beat Devonshire Rec by six wickets.
Rec scored 67 and then Trott scored 25 as St George's knocked them off with six wickets in hand.
Flatts won by default over St David's who could not field enough players.
BSG Under-13 League
Isiah Lewis claimed a hat-trick on his way to an impressive five-wicket haul as Flatts beat Saltus by 20 runs.
Dominique Williams was the top scorer for Flatts with 22 as they made 98 in their allotted 20 overs.
Scott Gilbertson took 2 for 16 for Saltus and then made 17 with the bat to set them on their way.
But Lewis worked his magic to reduce Saltus to 78 all out and give his team the win.
Lateef Trott, who also starred for the Under-16s last week, took two wickets for one run as St. George's beat Warwick White by seven wickets.
St. George's restricted Warwick to 41 in their 20 overs, with Antwon Williams the top scorer on ten.
Bryce Daniels then made 16 as St George's knocked off the runs in 9.2 overs for the loss of three wickets.
Justin Donawa starred for West End scoring 31 not out and taking two wickets as they went down to Somerset by two wickets.
West End batted first and scored 91 with Justin Corday the top bowler for Somerset with two wickets. Taj Outerbridge top scored with an unbeaten 21 as Somerset knocked off the runs with two overs to spare.
The Hiscox Under-10 League had a week-off because of the May 24 holiday.[[In-content Ad]]
