Western Counties to add junior programme
Ironshore Insurance as signed on as lead sponsor and as one part of the county revamp, it will help with the extending of the junior league into the summer. Registration for the Western Counties youth league will be held on Monday, July 9 from 5:30pm to 7pm at Southampton Rangers Sports Club for interested players and teams in the under 10 category.
Bob Deutsch, chief executive officer for Ironshore said in a press release: "We view our sponsorship of Western Counties Cricket Association as a long-term partnership and we're thrilled to be able to sponsor and revitalize this important association. It's a great way for Ironshore to make a positive impact in the community and our employees are looking forward to getting involved and supporting the teams."
Mitch Blaser, Ironshore's chief financial officer, added: "We've got a lot of exciting events and ideas planned for the WCCA this year and in the future. You can count on seeing an enhanced presence of the Western Counties teams in the years to come. One of our major objectives for the future is to offer cricket scholarships and to further promote the junior league development."
Gary Dowling, president of the Western Counties, said: "This partnership will assist us in re-reestablishing the WCCA series into a high-spirited local event ,which has been experienced in previous years.
