THURSDAY, MAY 31: Police are warning the public to be aware of email scams promising tickets to the 2012 Olympics.

There is an email going around, allegedly from the “National Olympic Committee”.

The e-mail claims that the recipient’s e-mail address was selected to receive two tickets to the 2012 London Olympics and a prize of £150,000.

The e-mail states that in order to claim the money, the recipient must disclose their personal information such as their name, age, gender, occupation, home and e-mail addresses and telephone numbers.

Police are urging the public to ignore the emails.

Anyone who may have been affected by this scam is encouraged to contact the Financial Crime Unit on 295-0011.
