Use your position to help others fulfil their purpose in life

Let's face it. Sometimes in life you make it to the 'big league" and you finally get your turn at bat. What a wonderful feeling of exhilaration and relief to make it out of the ghettos of life and find yourself in the fine places and palaces of life.

That is where we find the beautiful Esther. She began as Hadassah, a mere peasant girl, who had never seen the limelight, and became Queen Esther who enjoyed the brightest limelight. Esther was the chosen one; she was the queen. She had won the beauty contest, was the 'pick of the litter' by the king, and became his wife.

While Esther had attained much, it is unfortunate that she also lost much more. Her heart's desires were met, but her heritage became a forgotten thing of the past. Esther was the first lady of Persia, but she had forgotten that her legacy was of a people who worshipped the only true and living God.

Esther was placed and positioned in the king's palace so that she could be used by God. That's the bottom line! God was going to use her. However, the sad truth is that when Esther reached the top she forgot who she still was and whom she should be looking out for.

Bermuda, you must be so very careful when God blesses you and you feel that you've 'made it'. You must remember from whence you have come.

Do you remember when you only had a little and you had to hold on to the little that you had? How sad it would be if you made it to the top and forgot that you had been given a top-level position so that you could reach back and help the next person.

Esther had to be reminded by Mordecai that she had the ability to be the heroine of the moment, but that if she refused to do that which she could, God would raise someone else to do the job.

Mordecai also reminded her that she was not safe hiding out in the palace, because she would eventually suffer for not doing what she was very capable of doing.

This ought to be a concern and a point of awareness for all who are blessed to be leaders. What do you do with your position that helps to lift up the next brother or sister? How do you use your blessed position to bless another?

Bermuda, it is incumbent upon you to use your positions as places of possibilities, where you are able to help someone else find his purpose in life. It can only be as you help someone else that you actually build a legacy for that person and for yourself.

In the text, Esther 'caught herself' and submitted herself to the will of God. In so doing, God used Esther tremendously.

Ultimately, Esther saved a nation; she saved her people from destruction.

In other words, Esther was more than a queen; she was a heroine and a martyr. Esther would be known for more than her position as queen for a season; she had come into the kingdom for a reason.

Esther not only mattered for a king's kingdom, but she mattered for the Kingdom of Heaven. What a difference it makes when you yield your way, your walk, and your will to the way of God. Respice finem.
