Troubled parents turn to Jesus on your children's behalf

By Rev. Dr. Maria Seaman- | Comments: 0 | Leave a comment

As you read through the Word of God, you discover that the Bible is all about over-comers. From page to page and from book to book, you are introduced to someone who faced troubles and trials in his or her life. For sure, trouble knows no distinction.

Trouble is by no means prejudiced. Trouble visits the rich and the poor, white and black, the local and the foreigner, the mailroom and the boardroom.

The key to conquering your troubles is to be able to take your burdens to the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Jesus will take you out of the trouble or He will carry you through the trouble.

Either way, Jesus knows about all that you go through. Jesus waits to see whether you will approach Him and ask for a miracle from Him.

Here is what you see concerning a father in the scriptures:

Luke 9:37 And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him. 38 And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.

39 And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him.

This is what you see concerning a mother in the scriptures:

Luke 15: 22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

Grief

Though those parents were totally different, they had a very similar problem. They were both in grief because their children were in grief.

Those parents were dealing with children who were out of order. They were not experiencing peace. They were in torment and could not lead a normal life.

Their children could not live as a normal citizen of their country. No, at that point they had no future.

Real parents will do what it takes in order to see their children set free from a life of pain. Those parents were so desperate that they went public with their pain. No longer was the reality hidden in their home.

No, they were now going to seek out Jesus, because enough was enough. They needed someone to heal their children.

Look at the parents and note that the one thing that they had in common was they understood that if they wanted their children back, they had to take their issue to Jesus.

The father “belonged to the company”. In other words, the father was from an acceptable stock.

The mother was a Canaanite. She was from an unacceptable stock.

The beauty of those parents is that they were not going to let public polls and opinions stop them from going to Jesus.

That is where parents of Bermuda need to be. The focus of your passion must be on your children. You must understand that the future sanity of your children is dependent upon you getting to Jesus.

Those Bible parents did so. They went to Jesus and were not silent when they got to Him. They were crying.

Again, understand that they had already experienced enough of their children crying and now they too were crying. They cried out to Jesus on behalf of their children.

Their children were in trouble and the parents took their troubles to Jesus, because Jesus knows what to do with trouble. Jesus honoured the forwardness and the faith of those parents. Jesus heard their cry and Jesus touched the lives of the children.

Children who had experienced tormenting pain were given back to their parents as whole beings.

Children who had lost control were given back to their parents, and as a result, they were in control.

The future of those children looked brighter because their parents took their cries and concerns to Jesus.

Bermuda, I beseech you to do the same.

Your children need you to run to Jesus on their behalf. Parents, when you look at your children and consider their future, then you really have no choice but to get to Jesus. What are you willing to do in order to set your children free? Respice finem. n
