Traffic advisory: Road closures and parking for boat parade (update)

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9: The Bermuda Police Service would like for the motoring public to bear in mind the following due to the Christmas Boat Parade, which will be in effect on Saturday December 10 from 6pm – 9pm:

One Way Street

The following streets will become one way streets travelling in an easterly direction:

  • Harbour Road between Manse Road and Stowe Hill
  • The Lane between Stowe Hill and North Roundabout

Parking

Parking will be permitted on the north side of Harbour Road between Manse Road and Lovers Lane.

No Parking Areas

No parking on either side of Manse Road, Chapel Road and Cavendish Road.

 

THURSDAY, DEC. 8: The City of Hamilton today announced the following road closures will be put in place on Saturday, December 10, to facilitate the large number of spectators expected to gather on Front Street to watch this year’s boat parade.

Point Pleasant Road (at Albuoy’s Point) will be closed to all traffic from 4:00pm until 9:00pm.

From 3:00pm to 9:00pm, there will be no parking at the following locations: the south side of Front Street, from Parliament Street to Point Pleasant Road; Point Pleasant Road and Albuoy’s Point; Number 1 and Number 5 Car Parks. However access will only be granted to vehicles transporting disabled and elderly people and some seating will be available.

Horse and carriages will not be allowed access to the horse canopy and taxis will not be permitted to use the No.1 car park taxi stand.

Between 5:00pm and 9:30pm licensed food vendors, with permits, will be operating on Front Street, at Albuoy’s Point, under the Horse Canopy and at the Taxi Stand in front of Number 1 Car Park.

A large number of spectators are expected to attend this year’s boat parade and motorists are urged to park in City Hall Car Park, Par-La-Ville Car Park, Elliott Street car park or Bulls Head car park.

The City apologises for any inconvenience caused.
