Traffic Advisory: Front Street closed between Parliament and King Streets
THURSDAY, JULY 5: The City of Hamilton today announced that on Saturday, July 7 from 7:00am to Sunday, July 8, at 7:00pm, Front Street will be closed to all traffic between Parliament and King Streets. This closure is a continuation of the asphalt paving work that began last weekend.
Traffic traveling east on Front Street will be diverted onto Parliament Street to
Church Street for access to east Hamilton and beyond. Traffic traveling into
Hamilton along East Broadway will be diverted up Spurling’s Hill to Reid Street and into the city.
On both days, motorists and pedestrians will have access to the Number 8 Car Park, the supermarket, restaurants and other shops in the immediate vicinity.
There will be signage in place providing additional directions.
On Saturday July 7, from 3:00pm to Sunday July 8, at 6:00am, Church Street between Queen Street and Cedar Avenue, together with Dismont Drive will be closed to all traffic. These closures are to facilitate the Evolution Fashion Show which takes place on the steps of City Hall on July 7 at 7:30pm. The car park behind City Hall will be closed to accommodate the fashion show.
Those attending the show are encouraged to park at Bull’s Head and Par-la-Ville Car Parks.
On Sunday July 8, from 6:00am to 9:00am, Cedar Avenue between Church and
Victoria Streets will be closed while a crane is operating in the area.
The City of Hamilton apologizes for any inconvenience caused by these road closures.
