Traffic advisory for Major Chris Wheddon's funeral

TUESDAY, SEPT 25: The funeral service for Bermuda Regiment Officer Major Christian Wheddon will take place at the Anglican Cathedral, Church Street. City of Hamilton on Tuesday, September 25th 2012 commencing at 2pm.

No Parking

No parking of vehicles on Church Street will be allowed between Parliament Street and Burnaby Street (both sides) from 7am until the funeral procession has left the church on Tuesday, September 25th 2012.

Traffic Diversions - City of Hamilton

At 1:15pm, traffic travelling east along Church Street will be diverted at the junction of Cedar Avenue & Burnaby Street. Traffic will not be allowed to travel east beyond the junction - except those vehicles that are part of the funeral procession. This will remain in effect until the funeral procession has departed from the Cathedral and has reached the junction of King Street and Church Street.

Upon departure of the funeral procession from the church, traffic at the following junctions will be held until the funeral procession has past and reached the next junction:

• Church Street / Parliament Street

• Church Street/ Court Street

• Church Street / King Street

Traffic leaving Hamilton Market Place underground parking lot will be allowed to turn left only. Police officers will be at the junction of Burnaby and Church Streets to assist traffic flow.

Middle Road Warwick – Christ Church

At 3:30pm, traffic travelling east along Middle Road, will be diverted on to Longford Road. This will remain in effect until the funeral procession has cleared Middle Road in the area of Christ Church.

At 3:30pm, at the junction of Ord Road and Middle Road, traffic will be diverted west until the funeral procession has cleared Middle Road in the area of Christ Church.

At 3:30pm, traffic travelling west on Middle Road will be diverted onto Keith Hall Road until the funeral procession has cleared Middle Road in the area of Christ Church.
