Traffic advisory: Court Street open for late night shopping
THURSDAY, DEC. 22: The City of Hamilton today announced a change to the road closure on Court Street tomorrow evening Friday, December 23, the last night for late night shopping before Christmas.
Making the announcement was Chief Operating Officer and Secretary to the City of Hamilton, Mr. Edward Benevides. “After consultation with Court Street merchants and the team at the Economic Empowerment Zones, the City of Hamilton will ensure the entire length of Court Street will remain open on Friday December 23, for late night shopping. This move was at the request of merchants on the street who felt that the road closure hampered shoppers from accessing their businesses.”
Mr. Benevides added, “The closure of Reid Street from Burnaby Street to Queen Street will remain in effect. The shuttle service will also run as it has over the last few Friday evenings. The shuttle service shopper collection points are the EF Gordon Square to Bulls Head and from outside of City Hall to Bulls Head.”
“I take this opportunity on behalf of the Mayor, Council Members and staff of the City of Hamilton to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.” Mr. Benevides concluded.
