Extended to nine days this year, the Bermuda International Film Festival will be an action packed event.

The festival opening night bash on March 17 is hosted by Unite this year, the hosts of the Red, White and Pink parties. The party will start at 9 pm at the BIFF Front Room festival HQ at No. 6 Passenger Terminal, Front Street, Hamilton. Partygoers can unwind to the chilled out tunes of DJ Freedom Fighters and the “Lights, camera, action” pics on the red carpet with Meredith Andrews. The action kicks up a notch at 11 pm with DJ Chubb setting a party vibe with old school classics.

Admission to the party includes complimentary samples from Bacardi, nibbles, cocktail specials from festival sponsors BGA, and draws for festival tickets and other prizes. Tickets are $25 in advance, and available online at www.biff.bm or daily from 10am at the festival box office at No. 6 Passenger Terminal. Tickets at the door are $30. For the rest of the week, until the Wrap Party on Saturday March 25, visit BIFF Late Nites to meet the visiting filmmakers, jury, international press and visiting industry professionals from 9 pm onwards.

Late Nites kick off in the Veranda Bar at Elbow Beach Hotel on Saturday March 25. The schedule for the rest of the week is: Sunday, Heritage Court, Fairmont Hamilton Princess; Monday, Fresco’s Wine Bar; Wednesday, Café Cairo; Thursday, Splash; Friday, Square One.

On Sunday afternoon, there’ll be the BIFF BBQ at Aqua Restaurant at Ariel Sands, from 12.30-3.30pm. Visiting filmmakers will be there, and you can join them for a drink and a bbq lunch. Admission is free, food and drink is available for purchase.

Every lunchtime, between Monday and Thursday, join BIFF for the ‘Chats With…’ panel discussions at the BIFF Front Room, # 6 Passenger Terminal, Front Street. Admission is free, and food and drink will be available. The discussions between visiting filmmakers and industry guests take place from 12.15-1.15pm.

Also, BIFF’s Dinearound Card costs just $5, and gets cardholders 10 per cent off their meals at 25 participating dinearound restaurants. Pick up a dinearound flyer and card at the BIFF Front Room festival headquarters daily from 10 am.

Festival week finishes up with the Wrap Party and Awards Ceremony at Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel on Saturday March 25 from 9pm onwards.
