The Prophet Elisha's words were given to him by God
FRIDAY, DEC. 7: There is nothing more magnificent or more powerful than the Word of God. Imagine, that by the very power of His Word, God continues to uphold a revolving earth on its axis. That is super-amazing!
Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Whatever God speaks must come to pass. Whenever God speaks something forth, it has already been established as done in the spirit realm, and humanity simply waits for it to be established in the earth realm.
This can be seen as we peek into the story of a dead prophet named Elisha. Elisha was dead, yet the word that he spoke in life was about to come to pass.
Why? It was not because it was Elisha’s word, but the word that was given to him by God. Therefore God stood over His Word to perform it.
Ezekiel 12:25 For I am the Lord: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord God.
While the Prophet Elisha was on his deathbed, he yet spoke a living word to King Joash. Elisha told the king that Israel would face enemies, but God would spare Israel three times.
Elisha, the prophet over Israel for those many years, was such a mighty man of God, that even in death, he demonstrated an unusual power. God proved the might and worth of His Prophet Elisha by causing Elisha’s dead body to give life to another man’s dead body.
In ancient Israel they buried the bodies of dead persons right away, as soon as possible, sometimes even the same day they died, which means that blood and organs remained in the body of the dead person.
Hence, a recently buried Elisha still had blood in his body. Knowing that blood cells live three months, you can imagine that there was still ‘life’ in the body of a dead Elisha.
Miraculous
Consider the fact that Elisha lived a life of miracles. That could lead one to suggest that his cells were miracle cells or cells with miracle memories. Hence, even the dead body of Elisha the Prophet had remnant living, miraculous cells.
When the body of a newly dead young man was cast into the open case containing Elisha The Prophet’s body, the moment the young man’s body touched the bones (living blood cells) of Elisha’s body, the young man stood up and lived.
That young man’s ability to live was important. For Elisha the Prophet had come to the end of his life.
Elisha’s time on earth was up. It was over and done. However, the words that he spoke were not over and done.
This newly resurrected man’s presence was important for three reasons:
- He would be a witness of the supernatural power of a dead Prophet Elisha.
- He would witness the words of The Prophet Elisha come to pass, concerning victories over Syria.
- He was the prelude example of what would happen to the nation of Israel in the next three battles.
The powerful Word of God, spoken by Elisha, would not die. Just as God stands over His Word, that young man stood on his feet, because he would be a miracle witness of the miraculous deliverance of Israel from certain death by the hands of the Syrians.
When God speaks a Word over your life, you can count on that word being performed. God’s Word cannot fail because He cannot fail.
God will use whomsoever, alive or dead, to bring His Word to pass. Therefore, before you seek a word from this person or that person, seek the Word that God has already spoken over your life. There is life and life abundantly in the words of God.
Blessings abound.
