Technology can be a vessel for both good and evil
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28: The Era of Technology! What a time to live in!
The interesting thing about technology is that it will constantly be upgraded.
The more mankind exists, the more will be discovered.
That is, those things that God has covered for a season will in time be uncovered or revealed.
This is why it is referred to as discovery.
Ecclesiastes 1:9:
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Everything created has the potential within it for good or bad; it depends on the possessor of the thing.
When you think of technology, you must think of the airways.
That is, you must look towards satellites that hover over the earth, pick up signals, and relay them to equipment such as televisions, radios, and computers.
There is so much going on in the atmosphere above us, which is and has always been busy.
When you think of the universe, there is the Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, Thermosphere, and Ionosphere.
The Troposphere is where you get all of your weather patterns.
It is the closest to the earth.
I believe that all can agree with the statement that the weather is very busy and changing, and that depending on the weather (especially during the winter months), you will decide how you travel.
The weather is always in motion.
Indeed, even as you look into the troposphere and watch the clouds move in front of the blue skies, you would agree that the “heavens are busy”.
Yet, that is only one portion of the “heavens”.
Beyond what you can see, there are hundreds of kilometres of “heavens” or atmospheres, which is what I want to impress upon you today.
Christians believe that Satan was once known as Lucifer.
Isaiah 14:12 :
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!
How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Isaiah 14:13:
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north.
Ephesians 6:12:
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Jesus Himself spoke.
Luke 10:18:
And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Satan, or the devil, was banished from the presence of God and he, along with the fallen angels of disobedience now rule the lower heavens.
The lower heaven, or the atmosphere, is the chief environment of technology and the efforts of scientists to communicate.
Remember that all that is created has the potential for good and evil.
The bottom line is you must choose to use technology wisely.
The enemy of your soul desires to come against the image of God by influencing mankind as best as he can.
How will and how does he do it? He does it through controlling the messages coming through the airways.
The influence of evil cannot be doubted when it comes to technology.
These days, while you can use technology for so much good, this same technology will spew out so much evil.
While satellite communications can bring such good news to people, that same satellite can deliver bad news.
The battlefield for communication will always be here.
For the one who can communicate his message the most effectively will win the ear, and the heart of that people.
Think about a topic such as long-distance calling. It is the company who has the most cost-effective package who will gain your attention.
Hence, the atmospheres, or the “heavens” above us are very busy communicating.
What are they communicating? What are you receiving through the screens of your televisions, computers, laptops, and iPads?
Oh, there is yet a battle afoot.
There is a battle for your mind and for the mind of your children.
The same old battle that began in the Garden of Eden continues today.
Will you eat of the forbidden fruit? Will you offer the forbidden fruit to your family?
Will you suffer banishment out of the presence of God because of your choice? The choice is yours.
Next week, I will go further into the good and the evil of technology.
