WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27: Winners of Bermuda Youth Got Talent, The Paper Cutouts, are to perform alongside a host of other rock bands for the upcoming Summer Sundays this weekend.

Also playing at the free family event Rocking De Rock are Bad Current, Sonic Sanctuary, The Kennel Boys, Working Title and Duty Free.

Powergirl is mistress of ceremonies and there will be a free kids’ area including fun castles and face painting as well as a food court. The event will be broadcast live on FM105 and Power 95 from 4pm to 5pm.

“This is our fourth year for Summer Sundays since it was revamped. It’s a great family event, it’s free and it gives all different ages an opportunity to come out and enjoy local entertainment. It’s also a nice opportunity for up and coming artists as well to be able to have a platform.”

The entertainment is organized by 441 Productions.

The following month’s Summer Sundays is Lift Your Voice with a gospel theme.

Organizer Danilee Trott of Corporation of Hamilton added: “We have a combination of all different genres of music so there will be traditional gospel, reggae gospel, choirs, soloists and live bands.

“We also liturgical dancers which are always very popular.

“We normally have  a really good turn out to that event because we have different participants from different dominations and different churches.”

The finale event will be a mixed genre taking in soca, reggae and Latin music. There will be salsa dancers. Trott added: “It’s a nice combination it’s a whole island vibe.”

Summer Sundays takes place this Sunday from 3pm to 8pm in Victoria Park.

Lift Your Voices gospel concert takes place on July 5 and the finale, Island Vibes, takes place on September 2.
