FRIDAY, MAR. 30: The Berkeley Institute and the National DrumLine Academy are to
perform in one of Bermuda’s first High School Marching bands for the Heritage Day Parade.
The group is made up of over 80 musicians and dancers who will bring high energy and athleticism to an eclectic mix of sounds.
Christopher Darrell, Berkeley’s band director, said: “Our ensemble is looking to heat things up with their funky dance rhythms and display of precision, as this will definitely be a show stopping attraction in this year’s Heritage Day Parade.”
In their final preparations for this performance, the ensemble will spend a full week of learning under the instruction of international DrumLine expert Clifford Wesley.
To support the event, the school is launches its Friend of the Band campaign today. The aim of the campaign is to gain support from and raise funds through alumni and the community at large.
The band will be performing at Berkeley Field on April 8 at 4:30pm.
