St George's ferry cancelled for second day
TUESDAY, APRIL 24 10AM UPDATE: For the second straight day, the St George’s ferry service remains suspended.
This morning the Department of Marine and Ports Services advised that the service was cancelled due to bad weather.
Commuter services between Hamilton and Dockyard will operate according to schedule.
A spokesman from Marine and Ports Services said his Department apologises for “any inconvenience caused and thanked those affected for their patience and cooperation”.
MONDAY, APRIL 23, 3:45PM UPDATE: The Hamilton to Dockyard ferry service is up and running again and will continue until 8:30pm.
It was postponed earlier today because of severe weather conditions.
The Dockyard to St George’s run remains cancelled for today.
The Rockaway ferry will operate as scheduled at 4:10pm, 5:20pm and 6:20pm. And the Cavello Bay ferry will operate on schedule while Watford Bridge will remain suspended.
The changes earlier in the day caused a ripple effect by placing more demand on the bus service to handle cruise ship passengers.
A spokesperson said: “The Ministry has assured residents and visitors that the Department of Marine and Ports Services and the Department of Public Transportation (DPT) are currently working to provide additional transportation lift to Dockyard to ease the conditions.
“More specifically, the DPT has diverted additional buses to Dockyard and will bring in additional drivers if needed.”
All services are subject to change pending conditions.[[In-content Ad]]
