Solomon's wisdom needed to correct Bermuda's ills

The turning point of the Bible is wrapped up in the love of God. The pure and redeeming love of God is the axis upon which the Bible spins; it is the catalyst that initiates and indeed instigates the hand of God moving on behalf of mankind.

John 3:16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

In Genesis we understand fully that mankind was created in the image of God. Hence, we must further conclude that every human being has the natural capacity to love.

The challenge of humanity becomes, “What happens when God’s image experiences a life void of the essence of God?”

That is, we must look at humanity in a vacuum where they cannot see, hear, or feel love. That results in the inability of mankind to function as God is, or the inability to love correctly.

Rather than living with the love of God, we find that mankind today constantly tries to replace God’s love with the acquisition of things.

Let’s look at this modern love-language in the context of Bermuda today. Bermuda is currently experiencing a generation who learned from birth that their understanding about love and their actions of love are based on what they have.

Our youth have learned that things will suffice. The chain, the money, the clothes, the guy, the girl, and the car, have become examples of the love-language of this present generation.

Hence, when there is a lack of things, the love-language dictates that the void must be replaced with more things, no matter what the cost. Hence, to feel the love, a brother will chop, kill, and steal from another in order to satisfy his love.

When will Bermuda get it? When will you see that unless and until this generation reconnects with the manifestation of genuine love, they will forever be in a faltering state? You cannot have the love of God without loving God’s image.

When males love their brother as God directs, it will be impossible to plot and plan the demise of their image. No, that would be akin to killing yourself.

Unless and until there is a reconnection and reconfiguration of fallen humanity with their Creator, men will continue to wreak havoc on every system of this world.

The Education system will continue to suffer because this generation has been given everything except what is truly needed.

How sad that is, because when drugs, mayhem, and destruction enter through the supposedly safe school gates, a level of mis-education has successfully entered in the halls of academia to impute its ways upon the innocent and the naïve.

Justice

The justice system will suffer. Listen, the battle for the soul of mankind is raging, as Satan swirls around in the hearts and minds of the unregenerate.

There has never been a justice system that would be able to legislate the dictates of the heart of mankind. How sad to realize that while hell increases her belly daily, so do the jails. How sad that in this paradise, there are those who do not love and therefore do not care for the lives of those they intend to destroy.

The home system, the religious system, and the financial system, will all suffer because of a lack of godly love. There is plenty of selfish love, which is a self-focused, self-willed love fuelled by the fact that one should only consider oneself when making decisions. What can be done Bermuda? How dare I put all of this to paper and not offer some advice. Well, here it is. The Wisdom of Solomon is needed in the island of Bermuda. Solomon could have asked God for anything, but what he asked God for was the ability to judge wisely. Bermuda, are you willing to admit that you were wrong to run after the mighty dollar rather than the Almighty God?

Can you admit that the acquisition of things will not help turn the hearts of the people towards God and then towards others?

Can you admit that the fantastic building of economics will not build the hearts of our youth who have gone astray?

Can you admit the church has to be the first place to demonstrate the sincere love of God and become the welcoming place for those who desire to turn their lives back to God?

The Creator loved with a perfect love and gave His Son to redeem mankind because of His perfect love.

It is that love mankind must run after, because God desires to re-establish His place in the hearts of all who live in the paradise called Bermuda. Respice finem.
