Smith leads the pros at Goodwill
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5: Round two of the Goodwill Golf Tournament finished Tuesday under perfect golfing conditions for the players, and many of the teams took advantage and moved up the leaderboards.
In the professional men’s division, Chris Smith of the Par 5 Club has extended his points lead to six after an impressive 22 points at the Mid Ocean Club.
Terry Hatch from the Hidden Valley Golf has moved into second place with a two-day total of 37 points (20 points at Port Royal). In third place is Danny King of the Performance Academy At Magna with a two day-total of 36 points.
Wendy Shankelton of the London Hunt and Country Club ended her round yesterday with an impressive 21 points at the Riddell’s Bay Golf Club to take a seven-point lead over her nearest rivals in the Ladies Professional Division.
Hidden Valley Golf Club have share of the Net lead in the Junior Division after two days of play with the National Golf Club of Canada “B” Team.
Both teams sit at -20 after Hidden Valley shot the low round of the day at Riddell’s Bay with a score of 59. National Golf Club was playing at Mid Ocean and shot a round of 62. In third place is the team from Mississaugua Golf and Country Club “A” with a score of -18 under par.
Leading after two rounds in the Junior team Gross Division is the Performance Academy at Magna from Canada with a two-day total of 10 under par (-10).
With a two-day total of 21 under par (-21) and scoring a blistering 56 at the Tuckers Point Club in round two, the Hi5Golf Club have taken the Senior Men’s Divsion net by one shot, and lead the senior division with a two-day total of 120.
In second place is the team of Bellewood Golf Club with a 20 under par (-20) after they shot a score of 63 at the Port Royal Golf Club today. Tied in third place are the teams of Lambton Golf and CC, Oshawa Golf and Curling Club, and local team Par 5 Club all at 19 under par (-19).
Par 5 Club have a two-day total of 11 under par (-11) and a two-shot lead over Hi5Golf and the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club who both sit at 9 under par (-9) in the gross division.
The Riddell’s Bay Ladies continue to enjoy the Net lead they gave themself after day one and have a two-day total of 18 under par (-18) after they shot a 68 at the Mid Ocean Club.
Mid Ocean Ladies have taken a three-shot lead over the Riddell’s Bay Ladies in the Gross Division and sit at 7 under par (-7).
