The Jack Daniel’s Professional Golf Tour got underway at Mid Ocean club on Monday February 1 and finished Tuesday with Scott Roy being the winner of the order of merit.
In the tour championship Daniel Augustus was victorious with scores of 72 and 71, while Eric West was in second place on 147 for two rounds, showing that Tucker’s Point is one of the most difficult courses on the island.
Daniel Augustus made short work of the par 5, third hole making an eagle 3 both days. The Jack Daniels Golf Tour’s first season came to an end with Daniel Augustus lifting the title and $700 winners check. Augustus had a one stroke lead after the first round but gave it back to the field with a bogey on the first hole. Augustus would retake the  lead in dramatic fashion on the third hole with an eagle on the par 5 from 80 yards.
Augustus' round continued to be one of a roller coaster with a double bogey on the fourth, bogey on the fifth and sixth and birdie on the seventh. Augustus settled his nerves and game from then on  with birdies on 10,15 and 16 to finish with a 71(+1) and win the title by four shots. n
Eric West finished second with a 74(+4) and kept close to Augustus until his double bogey on the par 3 eighth and another on the par4 thirteenth derailing any hopes of the title. Third went to Scot Roy,75(+5), who's four putt on 18 cost  second place along with the ever improving Quinton Sherlock,74(+4).
The PGA of Bermuda Senior Stroke Play Championship was also decided at Tuckers Point and was won by Derrriek Douglas with a come from behind victory. Eardley Jones lead after the first round by 4 shots after his impressive 74(+4) but the pressure and the length of the course and wet conditions seemed to hamper his game as he fell to fourth with an 88(+18). Douglas on the other hand continues his steady play with back to back 76s even after his triple on the par 4 thirteenth. Two strokes behind was Twilton Smith with rounds of 79 and 77 left him in second and Cleive Tucker closed out the top 3 with rounds 78 and 82.

The players would like to thank Andrew Bissell for his hard work with the website
www.jackdanielsgolftour.com and his hard work organizing the events.
In the race for the order of merit, Scott Roy took 1st place followed by Dwayne Pearman, and Twilton Smith, who did not miss any of the over 30 events followed by Paul Adams in 4th Place.
It is intended to restart the tour in February and it is hoped Goslings and Jack Daniels will be sponsoring the tour again for 2011.
