Residential recycling collection now every two weeks
TUESDAY, AUGUST 9: The Department of Waste management within the Ministry of Public Works has announced that, beginning August 1, 2011 residential recycling pick up will change from weekly to fortnightly.
The Waste Management Department carries out monitoring of waste pick up including recycling and has found that many households are not recycling and in most cases, the bags containing recyclable materials were arriving and the Material Recovery Facility only half full.In an effort to be more cost effective, residential recycling pick up will now take place every two weeks.
Residential Recycling Pick up will now be on the following dates:
August Recycling Collection
• West End Recycling will be collected on Thursday 4th, and Thursday 18th.
• East End Recycling will be collected on Friday 5th and Friday 19th.
September Recycling Collection
• West End Recycling will be collected on Thursday 1th, Thursday 15th and Thursday 29th.
• East End Recycling will be collected on Friday 2th, Friday 16th and Friday 30th.
October Recycling Collection
• West End Recycling will be collected on Thursday 13th, and Thursday 27th.
• East End Recycling will be collected on Friday 14th and Friday 28th.
November Recycling Collection
• West End Recycling will be collected on Wednesday 9th, and Thursday 24th.
• East End Recycling will be collected on Thursday 10th and Friday 25th.
December Recycling Collection
• West End Recycling will be collected on Thursday 8th, and Thursday 22nd.
• East End Recycling will be collected on Friday 9th and Friday 23rd.
