Public school mid-term break changed

By Department of Education- | Comments: 0 | Leave a comment

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31: As the start of the new school term approaches, the Ministry of Education took this opportunity to issue the following reminder about the changes to the mid-term break.

Parents are encouraged to be mindful that mid-term break for Term 1 will occur in October as opposed to November.

The mid-term break will now be the week of October 24 – 28, 2011.

According to the Ministry, the change in dates is aligned with the Cambridge Curriculum. It will also allow for an even distance in instructional timeframes and give schools more time to implement interventions after their mid-term assessments and before the end of the term.

The Ministry advised that the changes to the holiday break have been discussed with stakeholder teacher and principal unions, and all parties are in agreement.[[In-content Ad]]
