Now, your favourite golfer's innermost thoughts are just a few clicks away - even less if you're already following them.
Take PGA Grand Slam winner Keegan Bradley. Last night he tweeted: "So much fun in Bermuda! Was so fun to win the Grand Slam of Golf. Hope to defend next year. Baba booey to all!"
You might have been wondering how he felt about coming to our island for the PGA Grand Slam. Here's what he said on his Twitter page (@Keegan_Bradley) a few days ago: "On my way to Bermuda for the PGA Grand Slam. Excited to get down there!"
Fellow competitor - and third place finisher - Rory McIlroy is a prolific Tweeter (@McIlroyRory). He describes himself on Twitter: "I hit a little white ball around a field sometimes!" Modest…
He was excited about his time at the PGA Grand Slam: "Nice few days in Bermuda... It's not every year you get to play in the grand slam of golf! Looking forward to a few days off in Istanbul :)"
His latest tweets also include a picture of a plane with the caption "Next stop Bermuda!" and a reply to his Pro-Am caddie Gary Williams, a radio and TV personality: "@garywilliamsGC thanks for the help! You only had to rake 1 bunker... But as you said, 1 too many!! See you out there tomorrow"
Darren Clarke (@theprincedc) might be the oldest out of the PGA Grand Slam field, but he's just as active on Twitter as his younger counterparts. His profile pic is his infamous Claret Jug - which he won at the British Open 2011. His last few tweets include a reply to Eamonn Holmes and a tribute to deceased Scottish golfer Adam Hunter.
South African golfer Charl Schwartzel (@CA_Schwartzel) dedicated his first Tweet earlier this month to "the Bokke".
According to his Twitter page, he was looking forward to coming to Bermuda and it took him "32 hours of door to door travel" to get here. Hope it was worth it!
On Thursday he added: "Had a great time playing the Grandslam, had lots of fun! Came close, but well done Keegan".
PGATour.com (@PGATour) interactive producer TJ Auclair (@tj_auclair) shed a bit more light on golf, tweeting and how lucky fans are to be able to interact with the players this way. "It's a great way to interact with the fans. You get to see a lot of the banter that goes on," he said.
He adds that his favourite golfer twitterers are Rory McIlroy and Lee Westwood. "They're buddies and they always give each other a hard time. That's something that the fans don't typically get to see. It's all in good fun and it's also fun to see that they're just regular people like we are."
"They like to have a good laugh and they share those jokes for everybody to see."
Auclair is responsible for keeping the world updated. He tweeted throughout the Grand Slam - everything from the current score to an awesome pic of a man taking a nap in a hammock during the game.
"I spend my day in front of the computer, on Twitter answering questions to give some commentary on what's going on."
"I give people who aren't here a feel for what's it's like."
"It's a nice little inside look that they probably wouldn't otherwise get."
