Heather Macdonald
Dec. 2 — Heather Macdonald will be presenting a new body of 30 paintings featuring Bermuda landscapes from Dec. 2 Dec. to 9 at Jardine House on Reid Street. To book an appointment to view the pieces, call 747-0209.
The Small Paintings Show
Until Dec. 31 — This show features works by Diana Amos, Eric Amos, William Collieson, Dan Dempster, Sheilagh Head, Jonah Jones, Christopher Marson, Molly Smith, Bruce Stuart, Otto Trott and Sharon Wilson. The show is focused on small paintings, which make perfect Christmas gifts. The show is open at The Desmond Fountain Gallery on Front Street.
Bda Society of arts
Until Dec. 7 — Open in the Bermuda Society of Arts is the annual Computer Generated Art Show. In the Edinburgh Gallery is a show by Meredith Andrews. Third Floor, City Hall. 292-3824.
Different Strokes
Until Dec. 11 — Now on at The Lighthouse Tearoom, Southampton is ‘Different Strokes’, a show of small pieces of art by Christopher Marson, Christopher Grimes, Otto Trott, Rhona Emmerson, Jackie Stevenson, Karen Dyer, Fayelle Bush, Angela Gentleman, and Emma Ingham-Dounouk. The Lighthouse Tearoom is open every day from 9am-3pm. The show closes Dec. 11 at 2pm.
Blooming & Small Wall
Dec. 4 — Opening at the BACD is Blooming, a show about riots of colour and burgeoning new life, as well as the Small Wall, with lots of small, quality work to fill lots of large, quality stockings following in the traditions of Windjammer and Heritage House Galleries. The feature artist for the show is Stacey Amos. The BACD is open Monday to Sunday 10-5pm. 234-2809.

Bermuda National Gallery Christmas Evening
Dec. 7 — Eat, drink, sing and be merry with the Bermuda National Gallery. There will be a Christmas concert, followed by carolling sing-along. The event takes place from 5.30–7.30pm at the Bermuda National Gallery. Tickets are $15, Members $5.
Bermuda National Gallery WINTER ART CAMPS
Dec. 19-23 — The BNG will host winter art camps for students aged 8-12. The three-day camp will take place Dec. 19,20, 21 and the two-day camp from Dec. 22-23. Geared for children aged 8-12, the Winter Art Classes will offer quality art education in a fun and informative environment. The class will run for five full days and children can be signed on for both camps, which will be taught by Arts Educator, Jenny Brookes.
The camp takes place from 9am–3pm at The Bermuda National Gallery. For more information call 295-9428.
Bermuda National Gallery Student Art Competition
Dec. 12 — This competition is open to all students studying in Bermuda under the age of 17. The theme is ‘What is your heritage and how has it shaped you?’ All work must be delivered to the Bermuda National Gallery by 4pm on Monday, Dec. 12, 2005. BNG Lunchtime Film Presentation: Happy Holidays in Pittsburgh
Dec. 7 —When winter arrives, people around Pittsburgh have ways of coping with the gloom. Like people everywhere, they celebrate: Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa, Ramadan and Eid, among other things, They cut their own trees and decorate them. They love to visit the Miniature Railroad at the Carnegie Science Center, the Nationality Rooms in the Cathedral of Learning at Pitt, the old homes in Allegheny West, the zillions of lights at Hartwood Acres, and even go ice-skating at PPG Place! It’s a season of parties, shopping, celebrating, going to worship services, renewing friendships and jumping in the frozen river. Happy Holidays in Pittsburgh looks at some of the things that make the end of the year and the start of the new one special times in Western Pennsylvania. The film will take place from 12.30–1.30pm and admission is free at the Bermuda National Gallery in City Hall.
Lunchtime Concert and Presentation: Christmas Traditions in Bermuda
Dec. 14 — To get people in the Christmas mood and to remember what Christmas is all about, the Bermuda National Gallery will host a mini concert with the Francis Patton School Choir singing original Christmas songs, followed by a presentation on Christmas Traditions in Bermuda by Ruth Thomas. The concert and presentation take place from 12.30-1.30 pm and admission is free.
Bermuda’s Culture & Traditions with Ruth Thomas
Dec. 7, 14, 21, 28 — Learn about Bermuda’s culture and traditions with Ruth Thomas every Wednesday in December from 11am-12noon at the Bermuda National Gallery. Organised by the Department of Community & Cultural Affairs, admission is free.

Christmas Celebration in St. George’s
Dec. 2 — The Bermuda National Trust invites members and friends for an evening of seasonal festivities in St. Georges. See the town in all its splendour, enjoy musical entertainment, dance performances, Christmas goodies and more. Santa Claus will be near the St. Peter’s Church Hall. Admission is free and parking will be at Tiger Bay.
Home Grown Alternatives
Dec. 3 — The Home-Grown Alternatives Shopping Extravaganza is slated for 10am-4pm at St. Paul’s Christian Education Centre in Paget.

Bermuda Christmas Boat Parade
Dec. 10 — This fairytale event features boats of all sizes decorated with brilliant festive lights and decoration, creating a sea of dreams. The parade takes place at 6.30pm in Hamilton Harbour. Places to watch include: Anywhere along the the City of Hamilton and Pitts Bay Road waterfront, Atop either Cavendish Heights or Bostock Hill and Harbour Road in Paget. Dec. 8-17 — The Bermuda Musical and Dramatic Society presents its annual offering of panto fun and games. Matinees are scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets are $25 and are available at www.bmds.bm or from the Ticket Office at Daylesford until Wednesday Dec. 7, weekdays only, between 5.30-7.30pm. From Thursday Dec. 8- Saturday Dec. 17.

The Ensemble Singers
Dec. 3 & 4 — The Ensemble Singers present Messiah by G.F. Handel with the Bermuda Philharmonic Orchestra. Wesley Methodist Church, Hamilton. Saturday, Dec. 3 at 8pm and Sunday, Dec. 4 at 4pm. Tickets $30 at the Music Box and the Wesley Methodist Church Office.

Walking Club of Bda
Dec. 4 — The Walking Club will walk from City Hall, Hamilton for approximately seven miles. Participants should meet at the parking lot at 7am for a 7.10 start. The walks are free and all are welcome.
