MONDAY, AUGUST 15: An American golfer in his rookie season has won the 2011 PGA Championship at the Atlanta Athletic Club in his first ever entry in a Major championship.

The stunning and dramatic win in a 3-hole playoff means Keegan Bradley has also qualified for the PGA Grand Slam of Golf at the Port Royal Golf Course in Bermuda.

Speaking from the PGA Championship in Atlanta, Grand Slam Chairman Andy Burrows said, "Keegan Bradley, whose father is a PGA professional, is the first American to qualify for the Grand Slam since the 2010 Masters.

"Keegan's victory adds an exciting element to our dynamic foursome.  Among this year's qualifiers are two players from Europe, another from South Africa and now Keegan Bradley from the United States.

"We expect a truly international event at Port Royal, enticing to golf fans who can watch on television in more than 100 countries around the world.  The exposure will be fantastic for the country, particularly our fine golf product."

Masters Champion Charl Schwartzel, US Open Champion Rory McIlroy and Open Champion Darren Clarke join Keegan Bradley as the four golfers who have qualified for the PGA Grand Slam of Golf, October 17 - 19, 2011.

Prior to Bradley's win today, the last American to win a Major championship was Phil Mickelson at the 2010 Masters.
