Pearman and Smith share the spoils

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 17: There was some doubt whether or not the Jack Daniels Golf Tour event scheduled for Tucker’s Point would get underway on Monday to due Tropical Storm Gert.

But Gert’s gentle winds and very little rain meant the event got off without a hitch.

It was tale of two nines for Chaka DeSilva. He made the turn with the lead firmly in hand with an even par 35, before things turned for the worse.

With five bogeys on the back nine, DeSilva slipped to five over par 75.

That left the door open for Daniel Augustus, Twilton Smith and Dwayne Pearman.

Smith made his move at 10 and 11 with birdies as he surged to the top of the leaderboard.

A bogey on 16 and a near fatal bogey on 18 allowed Pearman to win a share of the spoils.

Pearman closed well with birdies on 17 and 18 to tie for first with Smith at two over par 72.

There was a tie for third with Augustus and Cornell Bean who both finished three over par 73.

Smith and Pearman each picked up $575 whil Augustus and Bean each pocketed $375.

The rest of the purse was split among DeSilva ($200), Keith Smith ($150), Chris Grantier ($50), and Dwayne Gibson ($50).
