Over 60 top juniors expected to tee off
The young golfer is expected to be among 60 to 70 juniors teeing up at the RBT Junior International Classic July 3 to 6 at the Tuckers Point Club.
Tyco International announced that it will continued its sponsorship of the event.
The RBT Junior International Classic last year saw over 60 local and overseas young participants and organizers say this year's event promises to be even better with participants expected to come from U.K., France, Colombia, U.S. and Bermuda.
The organizing committee of the RBT Junior International Classic is promoting it across North America and with many of the U.S. junior golfing associations, Europe and South America via the various junior golfing associations. In addition, the Bermuda Junior Golf Association has sanctioned the event as an official Bermuda Junior Tournament. Last year's RBT Junior International Boys Champion, Bermudian, Daniel Augustus is returning to defend as too is the Girls Champion, French Megan Jones.
Clement E. Talbot, chairman of the Ross "Blackie" Talbot Charity Classic event, said in a press release: "I am exceptionally pleased that last year's Tournament raised the interest internationally and has now established itself on the world wide junior golfing calendar as it certainly encourages diversity, goodwill, fellowship, camaraderie and family values, which are the key values and the legacy of the Ross "Blackie" Talbot Charity Classic.
Kevin Benevides, chairman of the RBT Junior International Classic, said: "It is very gratifying that last year's event met with the success that it did and managed to generate the support from overseas junior golfing associations resulting in overseas junior golfers traveling to Bermuda to participate.
"We have now established relationships with them that can only benefit this tournament and Bermuda in the future."[[In-content Ad]]
