Once you have found peace prepare for Satan's attack

FRIDAY, JULY 6: Have you ever noticed that after your greatest moments of triumph, joy, and celebration, the enemy comes in like a flood?

Have you ever noticed that just when you reach a place called peace and quiet the enemy of your soul comes to disquiet your peace?

It actually makes all the sense in the world. Why would the enemy want you to remain in a place called victory?

Why would Satan desire for you to continuously tell others about how God has cleaned up your life and caused you to be able to worship Him in spirit and in truth again?

Oh no! Be assured that the more you are determined, the more the enemy is after you to cause you to turn your back on the very God who brought you a mighty long way.

Let me advise you of something very important. You must expect that the enemy will hunt you down to annihilate you because you have reached a place called Jerusalem (peace) and Judah (praise). When you reach that illusive place of peace and praise, the enemy will send in the most evil of his cohorts to take you off-track, to burst your bubble, to flatten your tyres, and to simply do anything he can to cause you to give up.

This is what you will see in the biblical text. Please know that Satan is a serious foe. If you think that you can play on his field, play by his rules, and still win, then you are sadly mistaken. He has been at his games for a long time, and even though he will ultimately lose, his aim, goal, and objective is to take as many people out with him as possible.

His strategy. Fear! The enemy desires to move people from a focus on the love of God to the focus on the fear of evil. He desires to cause the people to feel totally opposite to the truth and reality of God’s Word.

Simply put, the enemy must replace the love of God with fear. That is exactly what Sennacherib did. The people of Israel were settled. The House of God was clean and the people were willingly giving to the work of God. So, the enemy had to step in to disrupt things.

2 Chronicles 32:1 After these things, and the establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself.

Now the question is what will you do when the enemy comes against you? Well, you must do what King Hezekiah did.

1. Stop the water supply to the enemy. That is, whatever you are giving to your enemy as ammunition against you, you must cease. Stop! Stop contributing to your own demise.

2. Build up the broken place. That is, repair every existing breach. Fix what you have allowed to become worn.

3. Build double protection. That is, build another wall, which will give you a double wall. Become a double-fenced city. Secure your city and secure the people with the walls of your city.

4. Speak reassuringly to the people. That is, leaders should calm the fears of the people and bring them to a point where they can rest.

5. Remind the people of where their help comes from. The people must be reminded that God is their ultimate help and that there is no failure in God. The enemy will always taunt, but a leader must always tell of the goodness of God.

Your peace and praise will be restored. It may take a battle or a fight, but know that God still desires a place for you to worship Him and the best state in which to worship Him. You shall get back to Jerusalem and experience Judah in Jerusalem.
