No need to leave the island if you want a new set of clubs
FRIDAY, MAR. 9: In Bermuda we are used to getting everything six months after the rest of the world.
Well now we have it the other way round in Bermuda, thanks to an exclusive relationship that we have with Callaway and Taylormade, we actually have the latest equipment, as it is launched in the US and it’s at a very competitive price!
Here is the lineup of the goodies that you can get now at the Pro-shop at Tucker’s Point.
There are several types of club fitting. You can do a free “quick fit” if we are just trying to get a basic understanding of what kind of clubs are needed, but it really should be something where your unique swing and club combination are ‘tuned’, to get maximum benefit.
This is the beauty of the new clubs that as your swing changes we can alter the club to continue to fit, a bit like an adjustable waistband on trousers.
I generally feel that a club fitting lesson is the way to go where we can go into depth on what exactly is required.
Callaway is using technology on the RAZR Fit driver and fairway woods that allows you to change the ball flight by adjusting the face of the clubs into an open, square or closed position at address. Weights on the driver can be changed to promote a draw or straight tee shot.
The RAZR X Hybrid is designed to produce a higher launch angle the helps the ball land softer while increasing distance. The irons have a low centre of gravity making it easier to hit the sweet spot.
TaylorMade has updated its R11S drivers and fairway woods with a new adjustable sole plate with five rather than three settings, moveable weights and the company’s Flight Control Technology.
The RocketBallz driver has built-in adjustments that allow the player to change the driver’s clubface by 3 degrees either way or the loft by 1.5 degrees in either direction.
The RBZ seems to be Taylormade’s effort to provide a lower priced adjustable line of clubs.
I have always preferred Callaway but the new Taylormade RBZ and R11S seem to have a great product too.
If you’re in the market for new equipment you no longer have to leave the island to get fitted and try the new clubs out, you can get fitted and try the clubs at Tucker’s Point.
