THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23: Bermuda will hold a tribute to Whitney Houston this weekend.
Cha’Von Clarke, owner of CKC Corporation, is the driving force behind the event and will serve has host.
The tribute will be filmed for the On the Couch show, a new venture likened to the Oprah Winfrey Show with a Jay Leno twist.
Ms Clarke said: “On Sunday Feb 26th, we will host Bermuda's Televised tribute to music legend, Whitney Houston at a special intimate venue, Fresco’s Wine Bar on Chancery Lane in Hamilton.
“Two filmings, 12:30 to 2pm and 3:30 to 5pm will entertain a live studio audience and create two episodes of ‘On the Couch’ to be aired on channel 82.”
She continued: “Many locals were touched by Houston's music and even watched the funeral on television.
“We wanted to give the island an opportunity to celebrate Whitney Houston's life through music.”
Featured artists include McCartney Darrell, Cindy Smith, Sia Spence, Aisha Trott, Olivia Hamilton, and teen duo Angel and Montana. They will perform Whitney's hits like Where Do Broken Hearts Go, The Greatest Love and So Emotional.
On the Couch will air every Thursday at 8pm on channel 82 starting on March 1. It will also be available on www.bermyclips.com.
