The fourth chapter in the most successful videogame franchise ever is more of the same — bloody fight scenes and high action, but this time it all explodes out of the screen in 3D.
Picking up where the last movie left off, Milla Jovovich returns as Alice, who has been scouring the globe for survivors of the zombie apocalypse.
The plague was sparked by the outbreak of the T-virus, developed by the shady Umbrella Corporation.
A promise of a safe haven from the undead leads her to LA — but when she and comrade Claire (Ali Larter) get there, the city is in ruins and overrun.
She must also overcome another problem when she comes face-to-face with her nemesis, Umbrella Corp. boss Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts).
Wesker looks like he stepped straight off the set of The Matrix in his long black leather coat and sunglasses — he’s also super-strong, super-fast and has the ability to regenerate.
Director Paul W. S. Anderson —Jovovich’s husband — shot the movie with James Cameron’s state-of-the-art Fusion camera system, the same technology used for Avatar.
The result is immersive, realistic 3D teamed with technically brilliant effects.
