Comedy
Another culture-clash comedy focusing on a young couple from different ethnic backgrounds who fall in love and decide to tie the knot.
It's Guess Who's Coming To Dinner meets My Big Fat Greek Wedding - but with nowhere near as many laughs as the latter.
Lucia (Ugly Betty star America Ferrera) and Marcus (House of Payne's Lance Gross) discover the path up the aisle is rife with family strife thanks to their warring dads.
Marcus's wealthy African-American dad Brad (Oscar winner Forest Whitaker, taking a rare break from serious movies) clashes with Lucia's fiery, working class Latino father Miguel (Carlos Mencia) and both constantly trade insults, usually based on stereotypes about each other's cultures.
The feud starts when, before learning their kids are a couple, Brad finds Miguel in the process of towing his car away after he left it in a no-parking zone.
The animosity grows when they meet at their kids' engagement dinner and continues until the wedding as their competitiveness causes all kinds of comic havoc.
Sadly, the jokes are weak and the plot derivative. The less said about a scene involving a goat and Viagra the better.
There are the usual clichés - sensible moms trying to quell their husbands' stupidity, a family member who faints upon meeting her black fiancé and a soppy speech by the father of the bride to his daughter on her wedding day.
It's nothing new but will raise a few smiles.
