Another addition to the ever-growing collection of fang fantasies invading our screens in the wake of hits like Twilight and True Blood.
It's 2019 and a plague has transformed 95 per cent of the world's population into vampires.
With blood supplies dwindling, haematologist Edward Dalton (Ethan Hawke) is tasked with creating an artificial substitute.
But during his search, he encounters something even better - resistance fighters who know how to cure vamps and turn them back into humans.
Daybreakers turns the vampire genre on its head by making the blood suckers the dominant species, while the exploration of how a vampire society might work is interesting.
There are a few good scares and the talented cast give great performances but the movie is likely to only appeal to horror fans.
