MavTV promises sports, gadgets, women and laughs

What man can resist a network whose tagline is ‘Insane Sports, Gadgets, Women, Laughs and Gaming’?.

Now men can have all that and more with MavTV, just launched on CableVision’s Channel 154 in standard definition and in HD on Channel 434.

The vast majority of the network’s programming is original content, so you’ll find plenty of never-before-seen shows, all finely tuned to a unique male perspective.

So get ready for car crashes, fist fights, hair-raising stunts and breathtakingly beautiful women.

Sports

More than half the programming on this 24/7 network is sports-oriented, including a number of shows devoted to motorsports, which — by the way — are attracting an ever-growing number of female spectators, some 40 percent in fact.  

Here’s a peek at just some of what you can find on this newest addition to our line-up:

• AMA 2011 Racing Series — Thursdays at 9pm: The American Motorcyclist Association tour has been featured on MavTV for the past three years. Tune in for action-packed coverage that includes ice racing, hill-climbing, trials and drag racing.
• Lucas Oil Motorsports Hour — Thursdays at 10pm (re-airs during the week): This show covers a wide variety of motorsports events, presented by Lucas Oil. You’ll find everything from dirt tracks to road races, with a front-row seat for all the action.
• ADRL Tour — Thursdays at 11pm: MavTV’s coverage of the American Drag Racing League Tour features a two-hour weekly highlights show with five classes of races: Extreme Pro Stock, Pro Extreme Motorcycle, Extreme 10.5, Pro Nitrous, and Pro Extreme. The season concludes with full coverage of the exciting ‘Battle for the Belts’.
• American Tailgater — Fridays at 11am and 4pm: Now in its fourth season, American Tailgater hits all the top NFL and college football tailgating scenes, to capture the event outside of the event. It’s your invitation to the biggest parties surrounding some of the most exciting sporting events of the season.
• Doheny Models — Mondays at 10pm, separate episode at 10:30pm, and re-airs during the week: This MavTV original series takes you inside the world of a top Hollywood modelling agency. At the height of her career, successful actress and model Jasmine Dustin launched the agency Doheny Models, which became a magnet for gorgeous women. Viewers get to follow the models through their pursuit of some of the best — and most disastrous — modelling jobs in Hollywood. 
• The Single Life with Sam Phillips — Saturdays at 12:30am: If you want a unique perspective on dating and relationships from a woman who talks to guys just like they talk to each other, tune in for this late-night 30-minute lifestyle entertainment show, hosted by the outrageous Sam Phillips. She’s known for her syndicated radio talk shows, Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, and the PAX Network programme Extreme Fakeovers.
• Pack Rats — multiple air times throughout the week. Check www.MavTV.com for details: This show travels the U.S. in search of guys with outrageous — and often enormous — collections of anything, from vintage lingerie to motion sickness bags. Some pretty crazy collections of ‘stuff’ and the men who own them.
• Hollywood East — multiple air times. Check www.MavTV.com for details: This reality series chronicles the lives of rock band Falling Fast and the trials and tribulations they encounter on their road to stardom. It follows lead singer Scott Fisher and his bandmates as they pursue success… and women. As with most true Hollywood stories, celebrities are not made overnight, and it’s a rocky road to the top, with some wild times along the way.
