Live! Bermuda v Oman

Bermuda win by 8 wickets

Hemp smashes the winning runs with another boundary to finish with an imperious unbeaten 124 from 125 balls.

Superb stuff from the man-of-the-series for Bermuda who has guided them to a comfortable 8 wicket win with just under two overs remaining.

His 180 partnership with Outerbridge (91) was the foudation of the chase and with this win Bermuda guarantee a place in the top ten, meaning they remain in the ICC High Performance Programme and a reguaranteed the $350,000 funding that goes with that.

They play Uganda in the 9th place play-off on Monday.

48 overs: Bermuda 252 for 2. Target 255

Hemp 120, Blakeney 17

Four for Hemp, who dispatches a full toss over the covers to the boundary. Khan offers him another which he accpets and Bermuda are within a shot of victory.

Bermuda need 3 to win from the last 2 overs.

They've done what they had to do today and secured a place in the top ten - vital in terms of ICC funding.

47 overs: Bermuda 243 for 2. Target 255

Hemp 111, Blakeney 17

Lovely improvised flick off the legs for four more from Blakeney. Some good running as well from this pair as they move to within striking distance of the killer blow.

12 to win from the last three overs.

46 overs: Bermuda 234 for 2. Target 255

Hemp 108, Blakeney 10

Powerful cover drive from Blakeney brings up another boundary.

Elsewehere Afghanistan have become the first team in this tournament to beat Ireland. they won by 22 runs today.

An amazing reuslt that shows the Afghans were no fools.

Bermuda require 21 from the final four overs

45 overs: Bermuda 228 for 2. Target 255

Big over for Bermuda as Hemp and Blakeney cash in with a boundary-a-piece.

Less than a run-a-ball required to the finish.

Wicket! Bermuda 218 for 2 after 44 overs. Target 255

Outerbridge cuts loose lashing it over the covers for four to move into the 90s.

His hundred is in sight but he has to put the team first and take a few risks.

He does so, trying to lash Fahran Khan over the top for anotherr boundary and is clean bowled.

poor OUterbridge. He's out in the 90s again and that first limited oves century remains elusive.

he has taken Bermuda to the brink of victory though with that excellent innings.

43 overs: Bermuda 211 for 1. Target 255

Hemp 101, Outerbridge 86

Hemp takes a single and this time it is the hundred. He lifts his bat again, takes off his helmet and allows himself a big smile.

That's 100 from 107 balls for Hemp as Bermuda take the final power play.

they still need to finish this job, though. 44 to win from 7 overs.

42 overs: Bermuda 208 for 1. Target 255

Hemp 99, Outerbridge 85

Hemp takes a single and prematurely celebrates his century as the team applauds on the sidelines in the mistaken belief that he's reached the landmark.

Still one run to go.

41 overs: Bermuda 207 for 1. Target 255

Hemp 98, Outerbridge 84

Hemp hasn't faced a ball in the last two overs. He's stuck on 98 and he can't get on strike!

40 overs: Bermuda 205 for 1. Target 255

Hemp 98, Outerbridge 82

Outerbridge cracks four through the covers and then plays and misses, surviving a big appeal for caught behind as he looks to accelerate towards his first limited overs century.

It's been a good innings from the Bailey's Bay man. He deseves a hundred.

50 to win from the last ten - with a power play in hand.

39 overs: Bermuda 200 for 1. Target 255

Hemp 98, Outerbridge 77

They're chipping away at this total - run by run.

Taking the singles, playing sensibly.

38 overs: Bermuda 196 for 1. Target 255

Hemp 97, Outerbridge 76

A few singles off the last few overs. That's all that's required. There's plentyy of time to get these runs.

59 to win from 12 overs.

A lot of balls, lot of wickets in hand. It should be very gettable.

36 overs: Bermuda 191 for 1. Target 255

Hemp 94, Outerbridge 74

Outerbridge cracks four more through the leg side. Bermuda should win this game comfortably now.

35 overs: Bermuda 182 for 1. Target 255

Hemp 91, Outerbridge 68

Hemp launches a big six over mid-on, takes a single and he's into the 90s.

34 overs: Bermuda 173 for 1. Target 255

Hemp 83, Outerbridge 67

Hemp's rattling towards another century. he's been nothing short of phenomenal in the last few games. He's scoring at a rate of just under a run-a-ball today.

Outerbridge is providing good support. He slashes through the off-side for four and will be looking towards a century of his own.

Many will see it as too little too late but it would be something to be proud of if these two could bat it out to the end today.

30 overs: Bermuda 156 for 1. Target 255

Hemp 71, Outerbridge 53

That's 99 required to win from the last 20 and Bermuda are in cruise control.

Both batsmen have reached their half-century and Hemp, in particular, is in fine form.

He crashed one big six into the trees over the leg side and is cover driving with aplomb - that's his trademark when he's batting well.

Stylish Outerbridge, who has been one of the few standouts with the bat for Bermuda on this tour, is looking good also.

it's nice to see Bermuda on top - in the midst of a record partnership - 120 and counting - for this tour.

It may only be Oman, but this was a must win game.

A top ten finish at least puts Bermuda in the second tier of the ICC World Cricket League and gets them some extra funding.

Let's hope now that these two can stay there to the end.

20 overs: Bermuda 97 for 1. Target 255

Great partnership from these two with Hemp in imperious form once again. He's moved to an amazing fourth consecutive half-century.

Outerbridge is looking comfortable alongside him as these two look to take Bermuda past their victory target.

10 overs: Bermuda 50 for 1. Target 255

Commanding stuff from Hemp. All timing. He picked up four from a beautiful cover drive, then another boundary from a well-timed push off his pads.

Later he pushes through the offside for four more. No big shots, just a push through the gap is enough to bring a boundary on this slick outfield.

The 50 comes up in the tenth over.

Wicket! Bermuda 38 for 1 after 7 overs. Target 255

Crockwell cracks a pul in front of square for four. Then he tries to hammer Haider Ali through the off-side. But he swings and misses feathering the thinnest of edges to the keeper and he's gone for 18.

5overs: Bermuda 23 for 0. Target 255

Slow but steady progress as we've now come to expect from these two.

Crockwell is being a little more aggressive. he played one beautiful straight drive over the bowlers head for four.

2 overs: Bermuda 8 for 0. Target 255

David Hemp and Fiqre Crockwell renew their so far, so successful opening partnership.

Crockwell gets off the mark with a four clipped through the offside.

Oman 254 all out

Amir Ali goes for broke and is well held on the boundary by Tamauri Tucker to finsih off the innings.

After blazing to 100 inside 11 overs it could have been a lot worse.

But the spinners - Rodney Trott in particular with 4 for 43 - repaired the damage and it;s game on. This should be close.

Wicket! Oman 253 for 9 after 48

Run out! A risky two from Oman and Cann fields well in the deep. He throws, Leverock takes the bails and Haider Ali Khan has gone for two.

Amir Ali is still there on 50 not out as the batting side try to squeeze a few more runs from this last pair.

46 overs: Oman 239 for 8

Leverock is back on for the final overs. Trott finished with 4 for 43 from his ten.

Wicket! Oman 233 for 8 after 43

Another superb catch. This time it's Hemp with a full length dive to pluck a rocket of a shot out of the sky, one-handed. Sultan Ahmed goes for 34. Rodney Trott claims his fourth scalp.

40 overs: Oman 217 for 7

Amir Ali picks things up with a couple of big shots off Trott.

Kelly's back on at the other end and looking a bit tidier after his poor opening spell. A total of 300 is still on the cards, for Oman, though. Wickets are very much required.

38 overs: Oman 205 for 7

With a few streaky boundaries and some extremely quick running between the wickets, Oman have picked up the run rate again and are on course for an imposing target.

35 overs: Oman 191 for 7

Oman edging towards 200 now. The situation is not disimilar to the Dutch game. If Bermuda clean up the final few wickets this will be a relatively easy chase.

If Oman launch a late order onslaught in the final 10-15 overs, as Holland did no Monday, it will be a different story.

Wicket! Oman 175 for 7 after 32 overs

Trott strikes again. Farhan Khan tries to go over the top and is comfortably caught on the boundary by Lionel Cann. Let's finish the job this time.

Wicket! Oman 167 for 6 after 30 overs

Trott traps Oman skipper Heal Metha lbw for his second wicket in consecutive overs.

Bermuda are back in the game now, but they've been in this position before and let teams off the hook.

The spin attack of Trott and Leverock, supported today by Tamauri Tucker, is fine. It's pace and penentration from the seamers that is missing. In fact it is seamers that are missing full stop.

Wicket! Oman 163 for 5 after 28 overs

Bermuda's leading wicket taker Rodney Trott adds another to his tally.

He's had a decent tour in spite of everything.

David Hemp - who has stood out in the field - takes a low catch at short mid-wicket as Awal Khan flicks off his pads.

Wicket! Oman 140 for 4 after 21 overs

Desai tries to hit Leverock over the top and is well caught by Glenn Blakeney running round from the long-on boundary. Desai scored 58 from 53 balls.

The rate is still close to 7 an over and Bermuda will be looking to bowl Oman out now to stand a chance.

Wicket! Oman 110 for 3 after 16 overs

That's an absolutely stunning catch from Romaine. AdnanI lyas looks to hammer Outerbridge on the up over mid-wicket and Romaine leaps in the air catching one handed at full stretch.

15 overs: Oman 109 for 2

Leverock and Outerbridge have quietened things down after the initial fireworks display but this is still a shocking start for Bermuda.

Wicket! Oman 106 for 2 after 12

Great stop from Outerbridge in the covers. Confusion between the wickets. He throws to the bowlers end but the batsman's home. Leverock flings it to the keeper, Crockwell takes the bails and Zeeshan Ahmed Siddique is gone. He made 41 from 33 balls.

10 overs: Oman 92 for 1

Desai is almost caught on the boundary for a second time, Rodney Trott takes the catch, but he's over the ropes. He fumbles is back into play in an attempt to prevent it being called six, but it's too late.

Next ball he survives again as Tamauri Tucker drops a routine catch on the long-off boundary.

It's a risk-filled no holds barred strategy for Oman. They're living dangerously but they are surviving and well on their way to bringing up a hundred.

They've pounded the boundary wall, shook the oak trees and stunf the fingers of the fielders as they have rattled along at a rate of nine an over.

Stefan Kelly has been hit out of the attack. Outerbridge and Janeiro Tucker - two middle order batsmen - are now the de facto opening pair.

5 overs: 50 for 1 Oman are tearing into the Bermuda bowling as though this were a 20-20 game,

Kelly, who can have little confidence left, has been dispatched to all corners of the ground,

One straight drive from Hemin Desai rattled in the higher branches of an oak tree that hangs over the mid-off boundary before hurtling down into the outstretched hands of Tamauri Tucker. He spilled the catch but it didn't matter, the umpire had already given six.

Bermuda clearly holds no fears for this Oman batting line up they have gone for their shots from the first ball.

Wicket! Oman 20 for 1 after one over Magsood Hussein belts Kelly for five consecutive fours and then is out going for a sixth. . He gets off the mark with teo mid-timed pulls which go fine for four. Then he cracks on the up through the off-side. He takes four more with a pull in front of square and then blazes another over the in-field for a fifth boundary in five balls.

Then he tries to drive a sixth consecutive boundary over the top but he doesn't quite time it and Stephen Outerbridge takes a fine catch, backpedalling at mid-on.

Pre-amble: We're back at square one - Potchefstoom University. Today's game will decide whether Bermuda is relegated to division three or division two of the World Cricket League.

Bermuda field first with Tamauri Tucker coming back into the team for Jacobi Robinson. Stefan Kelly is the only recognized fast bowler.

Oman, who successfully chased 298 for victory inside 38 overs against Uganda in their final group game, have obviously got a few big hitters in their squad. Let's see how they handle Bermuda's makeshift attack.
