THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 8: The Lions Club of Bermuda and The MarketPlace today began the 24th annual Share the Christmas Spirit campaign.
The campaign was launched at the Hamilton MarketPlace with Governor George Fergusson.
Dessaline Waldron, chairperson for the Lions Club of Bermuda, said: “Once again, we are reaching out to the community of Bermuda to help us in providing all non-perishable items and placing them in the beautiful bins at all MarketPlace stores.
“Pacheco Farms has generously agreed to continued once again to donate fresh vegetables for our hampers.
“We are very much indebted to them.
“In this economic financial downturn, there are more Bermudians in need than ever before.”
Last year, the Lions distributed 550 hampers throughout the island.
“This year, we expect that number will rise.
“Please give generously to this worthwhile cause and help us make this another successful year.
“Share this Christmas spirit and remember you will be making someone’s Christmas brighter.”
The Lions deliver the hampers all over the island before Christmas.
