FRIDAY, NOV. 30: There was a man in the Bible that came to Jesus at night, probably because he was ashamed to come to Jesus in the daylight hours.

After all, his circle of friends would not have been too happy about his interest in Jesus… his name was Nicodemus.

He asked Jesus about eternal life. From this private conversation came the most popular verse of all… John 3:16.

For those of us who are believers, we have a constant desire for our loved ones to come to know Jesus Christ as personal Saviour.

As we share the good news with them: that if they admit to God they have sinned and trust in Jesus who died and rose again for us, they will have eternal life.

We want them to experience the joy that we have experienced in knowing God.

However, when they do not see what we see, we have a tendency to get frustrated and to give up.  But always remember this verse…

Jesus said: “The wind blows wherever it pleases.  You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.  So it is with everyone born of the SpiritJohn 3:8.

Jesus reminds us that just as the wind blows — so the Holy Spirit can change a person’s mind in a moment. You cannot tell when it will happen, but you will surely see the results.

This is what is it like for everyone that is born of the Holy Spirit. They least expect that would believe because it is a work of God.

So don’t be too quick to give up on people. Keep sharing this good news and keep living a life worthy of the Gospel — after all you do not know when the wind will blow.
