Jujitsu Academy featured in U.S. magazine ad

Sensei Shawn Harvey, owner of The Bermuda Small Circle Jujitsu Academy was featured in Martial Arts Progessional magazine.

Harvey said: “It was a giant promo ad showcasing the enormous success we are having in Bermuda. This informative magazine is read by all professional martial arts school owners all over the U.S.

The feature hit the news stands in early November. More than 50 clients participate in the Academy’s programmes which are also supported by healthcare providers, guidance councillors and the local school system.

According to Harvey, this magazine helps martial arts school owners grow their business and take it to a professional level.

“Martial Arts schools are no longer just teaching punching and kicking routines we have moved to become motivators, coaches, mentors, role models and fitness gurus.” said Harvey.

He added that the Bermuda Small Circle Jujitsu Academy works in harmony with the parents teaching the importance of life skills and high academic achievement to their children.

“I feel that we are offering the public a very important service. For those people who need to learn self protection skills there should be a place where they can go and get it and in a non threatening environment.

“We are a cutting edge school providing the latest teaching methods and curriculum for today's environment. Martial arts is a great pasttime activity for adults who need to stay in good shape, increase flexibility, lower blood pressure and cholesterol, strength training, increase mental capacity, decrease stress and overall wellness. As you can see this is an important business for Bermuda.” said Harvey

Harvey added that the martial arts industry in Bermuda needs to be taken more seriously regarding the professional help and benefits we offer. He said the child safety and anti-bully campaign was first promoted by the Bermuda Small Circle Jujitsu Academy in September via the media and “since then it has been given more attention than ever before.

“Children who are bullied must be given the opportunity to learn how to protect themselves.

“The martial arts curriculum addresses those issues directly with the education and tools to transform victims of bullying into smart kids who now have the fortitude not ever to be victims again.

“I invite everyone in the business and local community to support the martial arts industry by actively getting involved in our programmes.

“We work in conjunction with local schools, churches, youth groups and other related organization,” said Harvey.[[In-content Ad]]
