It's the last call for Soup-A-Bowl competition entries
Three recipes are selected and dishes are then cooked by the island’s top chefs and served to guests at a fundraising event at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess.
Deadline for submitting recipes is February 10 and it’s limited to one entry per person. The recipe must either be original or credited to its creator and must be constitute a soup or broth rather than a stew. Soups will be recreated at the fundraiser and winners will receive free tickets to the event.
Prizes
The overall winner will also receive eight hand-painted Italian ceramic soup bowls designed by The Island Shop’s Barbara Finsness, as well as a matching tureen, platter and ladle; in addition, their recipe will be included in The Eliza Dolittle cook book. The two runners-up will receive eight soup bowls.
The event takes place on February 28 at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess from 6pm to 9pm. Tickets are $75 and available online at: www.elizadolittle.com, The Island Shop and International Imports in Hamilton.
Proceeds will support the charity’s islandwide feeding programme — Daily Bread.
